The Kansas Narcotics Officers Association was founded in 1992. The general purpose of the Association is to promote the cooperation, education and exchange of information among all Law Enforcement Agencies involved in the enforcement of controlled substance laws.
The KNOA is governed and managed by an executive board and trustees.
There are four classes of members of this Association: Active Member, Charter Member, Life-Time Member, and Honorary Member. Active membership is available to any full-time, sworn, law enforcement officer, who is officially certified by the jurisdiction wherein the officer is employed.
KNOA offers certain membership benefits to its members such as Accidental Death or Dismemberment & Line of Duty Death Insurance and Scholarships. In addition the KNOA offers training throughout the calendar year on courses related to drug & narcotics investigations and interdiction. And each year the association honors members of the organization for their outstanding accomplishments during the past year in drug enforcement.
