Basic Narcotics Investigators Course (BNIC)

THE BNIC COURSE IS FULL AT THIS TIME.  ANY REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ADDED TO A WAIT LIST.  IF THERE ARE ANY CANCELLATIONS THE SPOTS WILL BE FILLED ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS FROM THE WAIT LIST.  IF YOU ARE ON THE WAIT LIST AND A SPOT DOES NOT OPEN UP, YOUR REGISTRATION WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO THE KNOA GENERAL CONFERENCE.

KNOA is pleased to announce that we will once again be hosting the Basic Narcotics Investigators Course (BNIC) in conjunction with the 2020 KNOA Annual Training Conference.

This course is designed to be for those that are just beginning to work in the world of narcotics investigations, and will give the students instruction on how to work a narcotics investigation from the initial phases up to presenting the case to the prosecutor.

The training will be held March 8th-12th, 2020 located at the Prairie Band Casino and Resort in Mayetta, KS.   Your 2020 KNOA membership dues are included with the price of registration.


Schedule Overview: ·Sunday March 8:  1pm-9pm; Registration, Beginning the Investigation, Importance of Networking, Prosecutors Meeting)

·Monday, March 9:  8am-5pm  Informant and Other Legal Issues for Narcotic Officers, Developing/Debriefing/ Pitfalls of Informants, How to make and Document a Controlled Buy/Ops Plans

·Tuesday, March 10: 8am- Evening; Informant Debrief Practical, Informant Controlled Buy Practicals, UC LIfe

· Wednesday, March 11:  8am-9pm; Surveillance Operations, Surveilance/Buy Practicals

·Thursday, March 12:  8am-12pm Closing speaker

Class size will be limited to 25 attendees.  This training is designed for entry level narcotics investigators with a preferred 5 years of less of narcotics investigation experience.  All registrations will be reviewed prior to approval to ensure that the student meets the qualifications.  Plain clothes attire is recommended, along with unmarked vehicles if possible.  Instruction will include classroom, as well as practical surveillance exercises.
