Basic Narcotics Investigators Course (BNIC VI)

Due to high demand, the Kansas Narcotics Officers Association is pleased to announce that we will once again be hosting the Basic Narcotics Investigators Course (BNIC) in Wichita, KS on September 25th to September 29nd, 2023.  

The BNIC course is designed to be for those that are just beginning to work in the world of narcotics investigations, and will give the students instruction on how to work a narcotics investigation from the initial phases up to presenting the case to the prosecutor.

Law Enforcement and Prosecutors are welcome and encouraged to attend this course.  

The training has previously only been held in conjunction with the KNOA annual conference.  Due to high demand, the KNOA Board has decided to host this additional course in 2023 as a stand alone class.  Registration for the course is $250 and will include membership into KNOA.

Schedule Overview: 

• Class will begin Monday September 25th at 8:00 AM and end on Friday at 12:00 PM.  There will be some evening instruction and attendees will receive 40 hours of training for this course.  A full schedule will be posted when finalized.

Class size will be limited to 30 attendees.  This training is designed for entry level narcotics investigators with a preferred 5 years or less of narcotics investigation experience.  All registrations will be reviewed prior to approval to ensure that the student meets the qualifications.  Plain clothes attire is recommended, along with unmarked vehicles if possible.  Instruction will include classroom, as well as practical surveillance exercises.

Location: Wichita Sedgwick County Law Enforcement Training Center located at 4310 E. 19th Street N. in Wichita, Kansas 67208. The training building is located on campus at Wichita State University.
